Description

In Obernberg, approx. 200 m before Almi's Berghotel in the southern district of Frade, forest trail no. 80 begins at the Kofler sawmill. This first leads up through the forest, then into the valley without much incline until the terrain opens up. Then the Fradertal valley begins, meadows and alpine pastures, a pond and several alpine huts appear. Continue through the idyllic Fradertal valley along the forest path to the Hochleger (alp). From there, trail no. 97 starts over rather stony meadow terrain with quite a climb up to the summit of the Hoher Lorenzenberg at 2,313m. At the top, wonderful views open up to the South Tyrolean mountains to the south. The descent is also possible via trail no. 97A along the border ridge to the east to the Flachjoch and back down to the Hochleger via the single trail.

Another alternative with at least 2.5 hours of walking time and a few metres of uphill is the descent via the Seeblickweg trail no. 96, where you pass the summit of the Allerleigrupenspitze.
