The Rappenseehütte is a refuge run by the German Alpine Club.
Your starting point is the hamlet of Lechleiten. From there you walk north-east to the Lechleitneralm, on the eastern slope of the wide, flat saddle "Am Schänzle" slightly ascending in a hollow to the highest point of the "Schlosswand".
Continue horizontally across to the Obere Biberalm, further north-east down into the deeply rutted Mulztobel (surefootedness required) and beyond, still descending around the western slopes of the Rappenköpfl to the Schafalp. Now climb moderately again into the wide hollow through which the outflow of the Rappensee lake comes, which forms the Körbertobel further down. Cross it and climb up the southern slopes of the Mutzenkopf and cross over to the saddle where you meet the path coming up from Einödsbach in the Allgäu.
Now take a sharp left, over rugged precipices on grassy slopes steeper up to the saddle at Seebichl, behind which the Rappenseehütte lies a little lower down.
