Description

After the last bottleneck has passed, it is impressively demonstrated what is to be understood by the end of a valley. As if the world were over behind the huts of the Tortal Niederleger, the rugged, 1000-metre-high goal walls obscure the horizon. Only at the furthest corner a green high valley opens up on the right, through which a climb up to the Torscharte zackt. The descent into the Rohntal also takes place in front of a large backdrop: Under the mighty wall corridors of Vogelkar- and Östlicher Karwendelspitze you descend in several serpentines into the wide basin of the Rohntalm.

From Hinterriss follow the signs to the exit of the Tortal. On the Almweg inwards to Tortal Alm Niederleger. After the huts on a marked path around to the right, in the high valley under the gate walls up to Hochleger. Over meadows into the Torscharte (1815 m), the highest point of the round. Beyond in many serpentines down into the Rohntalboden. Continue to the Rohntal Alm and on the wide alpine path out of the valley back to Hinterriss.
