From Zams via the Wiesensteig trail up to the Zammer Alm and Zams ski hut. From there up to the Venetbahn mountain station, then on via the Glanderspitze (2,505m), Wannejöchl (2,495m) and Larcher Alm to Wenns in Pitztal.
The starting point is the Venetbahn valley station in Zams. From there, the long-distance hiking trail follows the Wiesensteig (Trail 2a) uphill to the Zammer Alm and the Zams Ski Hut. Both offer places to stop for refreshments and beautiful views, inviting hikers to take a break. The trail then continues uphill to the Venetbahn mountain station on the Krahberg, where you’ll find a panoramic restaurant and a summit hut. Above the mountain station, a trail begins that leads to the summit of the 2,505-meter-high Glanderspitze. From there, the route continues over the Wannejöchl (2,495 m) to the Larcher Alm and finally down to Wenns in the Pitztal. The village of Wenns is an ideal place to spend the night, and the next morning you can take the No. 310 bus from Wenns to Mittelberg. If there is still enough time after arriving in Wenns, you can also take the public bus to Mittelberg on the same day and try to find a place to stay in Mittelberg.
