Description

The starting point is the "Trins Waldfestplatz" bus stop or the "Waldfestplatz (No. 4)" car park in Trins. The trail first runs through the settlement area in Trins to Hotel Zita and from there via hiking trail no. 122 up into the forest. From here you hike mostly in the forest until the hiking trail meets the forest road. Now continue straight on, following the marked trail no. 122 across a meadow, further over a bridge and up through the forest, always cutting off the bends in the forest road. Below the Foppmandl you now reach the tree line. Continue along the Herrensteig (no. 122) for a good distance, past a gate and up to a fork, where you turn right and climb quite steeply the last 200 metres to the summit cross of the Foppmandl at 2,412m.

Descent as ascent. A stop at the hut Padasterjochhaus is definitely recommended.
