The stage follows the Panorama Trail with magnificent views of the Lech Valley, then continues along the Lech via Steeg and Hägerau to Holzgau.
The route follows the Panorama Trail towards Steeg. High above the Lech, magnificent views open up across the Lech Valley, with glimpses of the river’s magical turquoise waters far below. A series of hairpin bends on the old main road eventually leads down to the Lech. Until the early 1980s, this narrow road carried all through traffic; today, nature is gradually reclaiming the area. Following the riverbank, the trail continues into the village of Steeg.
For refreshments, stop at the Sojer natural cheese dairy or the award-winning Postwirt restaurant. Hotel Post is one of the Nature Park Hosts, a group of eight restaurants committed to sourcing key products from Austria and serving guests dishes made with high-quality ingredients. If your muscles are already feeling the effects of the hike, the Aqua Nova leisure pool is the perfect place to relax.
The route continues along a field path towards Hägerau, where a Kneipp facility beside a wonderfully wild waterfall invites you to cool your feet and take a break. From here, the trail follows the Jochweg to Holzgau.
