Der Lechweg führt dich durch die einzigartige Wildflusslandschaft entlang des Lechs von Weißenbach über Rieden und Ehenbichl bis nach Höfen und Wängle.
Welcome to the wild river. The Lechweg River Trail now follows the gravel banks through the characteristic landscape of the wild river. The trail continues on the left towards the Forchach suspension bridge. Although the Lechweg does not cross the bridge, it is well worth taking a walk across it. Built in 1906 and around 75 metres long, the suspension bridge visibly sways as you cross it. Continuing along the riverbank, you will reach the Johannes Bridge. The first bridge was built here around the middle of the 19th century, and travellers once had to pay a toll to cross it. The trail continues past the quarry pond, where barbecue areas invite you to take a relaxing break. Cross the main road and move slightly away from the Lech. At the foot of the Moosberg, the Lechweg leads to Weißenbach. At the Weißenbach stream, you will find a Kneipp facility where you can refresh tired feet and legs.
From the centre of Weißenbach, the Lechweg River Trail leads back to the river and to the entrance of the Rotlech Gorge. From here, continue to Rieden, where the idyllic Riedener See lake is a hidden gem. Tucked away in the forest, it is home to some rare natural treasures. You now have the option of taking an alternative route. Via the Klausenwald forest, the trail climbs up to Schlosskopf Fortress, where a unique panorama awaits you. The Burgenwelt Ehrenberg Castle World bears witness to 2000 years of European history. At the "Dem Ritter auf der Spur" adventure museum, you can immerse yourself in times gone by. The descent leads towards Ehenbichl.
If you do not wish to visit the Burgenwelt Ehrenberg Castle World, follow the marked trail along the banks of the Lech to Ehenbichl. From Ehenbichl, cross the Lech footbridge to Höfen, situated at the foot of the Hahnenkamm. From here, the Reutte cable cars provide access to the surrounding mountain world. On the way between Höfen and Wängle, you will find a display garden in a small woodland area.
The Lechweg River Trail is well connected to the local public transport network.
