Description

Since 2001, the Planetary Discovery Trail has brought the dimensions of our solar system to life. By 2025, all information about the planets will be up to date and accessible free of charge to families, school classes, and curious minds of all ages.

Highlights:

  • Information boards & true-to-scale planets & distances to the starting point Sun
  • Digital audio puzzle adventure with Karwendolin & Karla Wendel (for children aged 8-12)
  • Walking time: approx. 1 hour round trip (approx. 2 hours with digital adventure)
For the digital adventure, you will need the planet map from the tourist office in Schwaz or the municipality of Terfens. Bring a smartphone & pen or felt-tip pen to the Planetary Discovery Trail, and possibly headphones.

Thanks to the protective trees in the forest, the Planetary Discovery Trail can also be enjoyed in the rain. Depending on snow conditions, the trail is generally accessible all year round—however, in winter, pay particular attention to snow loads on branches.
