A nice and easy circuit designed by local artists.
Ascent by car to the monastery at 1.641m (toll). The themed circular hiking trail begins at the Maria Waldrast Monastery and leads along the spring trail through the mountain pasture area to the Matreier Ochsenalm. From there in an arc slightly uphill at the foot of the Serles and past the places of power and reflection with sculptures and relics back to Maria Waldrast Monastery.
Various bus and S-Bahn connections to Matrei am Brenner. Timetables: www.vvt.at Free use of the regional connections with the Wipptal guest card. By car via the A13, exit 19 (Matrei-Steinach) to Matrei and after approx. 2 km, at the northern entrance to the village of Matrei turn left towards Mützens (signposting "Klostergasthof Maria Waldrast" available). After approx. 1.5 km there are free parking spaces. It is possible to use the paved road to the Klostergasthof from here, which is subject to a fee.
