Description

From the Tal/Leite car park (no. 4), walk into the valley above the church and turn left at the first fork. When crossing the stream, it is worth taking a jump to see the old mills that are still standing here. Then walk above the meadow, along the bird nature trail, to the turning point and a slight climb to the well-known Sarnthein waterfall, where benches invite you to rest in the cool spray of the impressive waterfall on hot days. Return along a forest path to the chapel of St. Barbara, which, perched on a hill, is the eponym of this loop. An old weather cross next to the chapel suggests that this special place could be an ancient place of worship. After the chapel, you can continue along the hiking trail to the Sarnthein waterfall and from there back towards the valley floor and along the village roads back to the starting point.
