Description

Starting point at the Almkopfbahn or in Bichlbach. From there, you begin your first uphill ride on MTB route830 towards Almkopf/Heiterwanger Hochalm. If you choose to include the very challenging Lichte Trail, turn right after about 350 meters of elevation (at an open, flat piste intersection, signposted to Lichte Trail 882). This trail ends directly at the valley station of the Almkopfbahn.
Warning: The trail can be very slippery when wet!
If you skip the Lichte Trail, continue uphill on the gravel road (MTB route 830) until you reach the turnaround point at the ski slope. Here, you will face a very steep section of the ski slope, share trail, for both bikers and hikers! This section can be tackled with an e-bike or for very athletic riders, but for others, it will be a few meters of pushing.
The entire uphill route can, of course, also be assisted by the mountain lifts.
After a total of about 550 meters of elevation, you will reach the Almkopfbahn mountain station. Right next to the mountain station is the Heiterwanger Hochalm, offering a beautiful panorama of Berwang, perfect for a break.
After a well-deserved rest, roll down about 300 meters of the gravel road (MTB Route 879) towards Berwang, and at the first turn, go straight onto the Höhenweg singletrail (880).
Attention hikers! Share Trail! Narrow trail, traversing steep terrain!
After the Höhenweg singletrail, you'll face another descent via a forest road, with fantastic views along the water reservoir. Just past the lake, turn left at the farmhouse into the forest. With a slight climb and a small descent in between, you will reach the mountain restaurant "Das View" after a few kilometers and about 150 meters of elevation. The relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views invite you to take another break.
Next, follow MTB Route 879 downhill towards the valley station and the village center of Berwang.
Pass through Berwang to MTB Route 871, and easily roll back to Bichlbach.
To finish the ride, enjoy the Family Trail in Lermoos. Follow the R8 bike route to the center of Lermoos. Just before reaching the Grubigsteinbahn, turn right at the large parking lot towards Widum and MTB Route 868. Follow the gravel road to the left until you reach Tieftaleck. Here, the Schlägle Trail crosses from above. The bench with a breathtaking panorama of Lermoos to Ehrwald offers one last chance to rest. Finally, enjoy the flowy Family Trail, which will lead you back to the center of Lermoos.
