Moderate hike from the Sixenhof local history museum into the Oberautal valley to Kaserstattalm. The ascent takes around 2 hours 15 minutes and includes 510 metres of elevation gain.
From the car park of the Sixenhof local history museum, head west to the Schrambacherhof. From here, a scenic path leads into the Oberautal valley. Right after the last farmhouse, turn right to the Stod chapel and walk past the Stod waterfall. After ca. 1 hour you arrive at the Schrambachalm (not serviced) and from here, the trail climbs gradually by way of switchbacks to the Kaserstattalm mountain hut (not serviced, time ca. 1 hour 15 minutes). The return is via the same route.
Take the regional bus (lines 4080 or 390) to Achenkirch and get off at the "Achenkirch Fischerwirt" stop.
Drive along the Achensee federal road (B181) to Achenkirch at the northern end of Lake Achensee. Take the first exit “Achenkirch Süd”, then turn left at the junction towards the lakefront. After approx. 350 metres, the lakefront is reached.
