Description

To the right of the Fischerwirt, follow the path through the underpass of the Achensee federal road. Then, continue along a signposted trail up to the Kaiser-Maximilian-Rast. The viewing platform with the impressive throne offers stunning views of Achenkirch and Lake Achensee. It commemorates Emperor Maximilian I, who was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman and loved the region back in the 15th century, when he was one of the first guests to visit Lake Achensee.

The return route runs from the platform down a wide forest road to the Hotel VAYA Achensee. Once you have reached the federal road, turn left and follow the footpath towards the lake for about 450 metres. The underpass takes you back to the starting point at the Fischerwirt.
