This varied loop hike leads to the picturesque Brechsee and on to the rustic Söllbergalm. Breathtaking views of the Pitztal Valley and the surrounding mountains make this hike a special experience in nature.
The hike begins in the Rehwald district and follows a farm road to the Mauchele Alm. From there, a steep hiking trail leads toward Brechsee and Stallkogel. After about 100 meters, the trail splits: the left path leads to Stallkogel, while the right path leads to the picturesque Brechsee.
At Brechsee, an impressive panoramic view opens up over Wenns, Arzl, and the surrounding mountains, including the Venet, Tschirgant, and Gemeindekopf. From there, a hiking trail branches off to the right toward the Söllbergalm, which can be reached in about 30 to 45 minutes.
The return route leads from the Söllbergalm along a farm road toward Wiese. After about 150 meters, a moderately steep hiking trail branches off to the right toward the Mauchele Alm. This trail winds through sparse larch and Swiss stone pine forests and rejoins the farm road leading to the Mauchele Alm. From there, it’s about 200 meters to the alpine pasture before the route follows the well-known path back to the starting point in Rehwald.
