Hiking through a refreshing gorge in the fall - what kind of idea is that? Once you have immersed yourself in the colorful world of colors along the Brandenberger Ache, you will understand and thank us for this idea.
The well-secured, narrow path mostly leads over stone and gravel ground high above the rushing Brandenberger Ache. From the many bridges and viewing platforms, you can watch the roaring water in the sometimes narrow gorge. After around 4 km, the valley opens up and you reach a meadow and your destination - the Tiefenbachklamm snack station. From here, either take the same route back or climb up to Brandenberg or to the Stegerstall snack station, from where you can take the bus back to Kramsach (from Brandenberg) or to the parking lot (from Gasthof Stegerstall). If you still haven't had enough, you can also pay a visit to the nearby Kaiserklamm gorge.
Never leave children unattended in the gorge! Special caution is required with children and in rainy weather!
More child-friendly gorge hikes:
The gorges are closed in winter and during bad weather!
Hiking with dogs through the Tiefenbach and Kaiserklamm is not suitable due to the steel bridges with grating (especially not doable for small dogs).
sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
The guided route starts directly at the Sonnwendjochbahn parking lot at Sport Ossi. From there, it goes by free Regiobus to the entrance of the Tiefenbachklamm, the starting point of our hike. Parking options near the gorge entrance are limited.
This hike leads along the well-secured Triftsteig through the impressive Tiefenbachklamm in Brandenberg. You will receive impressive information about the historic timber rafting from the hiking guide Ossi and also get insights into the geology. During this hike, you cross the Brandenberger Ache a total of three times until you reach the Tiefenbachklamm snack station after about 1.5 hours. There is an opportunity to stop at the snack station Tiefenbachklamm or the group continues uphill to the village center of Brandenberg. There are chances to dine in the village at Ascherwirt or Neuwirt depending on your mood. From there, the bus goes back to Kramsach (Mariathal junction). From there, it is a short walk back to the starting point.
Tip: This route is also offered as part of the Alpbachtal Card program:
