Description

To the right of the Fischerwirt, follow the path through the underpass of the Achensee federal road. Then, continue along the trail towards Köglalm (signposted). After about 45 minutes of walking, you will reach the turnoff to Kaiser-Maximilian-Rast (1,250 metres). A short detour of about 15 minutes leads to this viewing platform with a larger-than-life emperor's throne. From there, you can enjoy stunning views of Lake Achensee and the village of Achenkirch.
Back on the main path, continue to the Köglalm (1,431 metres). After passing the mountain hut, follow the first signpost for Achenseehof, which leads you back down into the valley towards the Adventure Park/Achenseehof. Return to the starting point by regional bus or on foot along Lake Achensee.

The Achensee region carries the Tirolean seal of quality for the high standard of its hiking paths. The "Kaisersteig" has been named "Tirolean mountain trail of distinction" for its scenic beauty, stunning views and unique flora.
