Suitable equipment such as breathable and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, wind, rain and sun protection, hat, possibly gloves, is required for all hikes and routes. Carrying a first aid kit, a mobile phone and possibly a hiking map, as well as sufficient provisions for hikes without opportunities to stop, is necessary.
Descent from the Schöne Aussicht to Kurzras in the Schnalstal (1 ½ h), from there by bus to Vernagt am See (https://www.sad.it) and from Vernagt am See to the Similaun hut (1,300 m ascent / 4 - 5 h).
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can conveniently and quickly travel through the entire valley to your desired destination by public transport or local taxi companies! In the mountaineering village of Vent, the following parking options are available.
- In summer, in front of the village (parking meter, coins or EC card only) and at the valley station of the chairlift (at the ticket office of the mountain railways)
- In winter, only at the valley station of the chairlift.
