This varied mountain hike leads to the peaceful Luibisalm and continues through high-alpine terrain to the picturesque Moalandlsee. Breathtaking views and the impressive backdrop of the Rofelewand make this tour an unforgettable experience in nature.
The hike begins at the starting point and initially heads left along a dirt road toward the transmission tower. After a short stretch, a hiking trail branches off to the right toward the Luibisalm. The trail leads to the unstaffed alpine pasture, which lies high above the valley floor as a peaceful destination with spectacular views and offers an impressive vista of the Rofelewand (3,354 m) across the valley.
The route then continues past a hunting cabin to the Luibisböden. From there, the trail leads straight ahead to the Luibiskogel, while a hiking trail on the right winds through a scree cirque to a pass, beyond which lies the picturesque Moalandlsee, nestled amid an impressive rocky backdrop. Sure-footedness and good physical conditioning are required for this section.
The return trip follows the same route back to the starting point.
