The RED WAY of the Via Alpina crosses the main Alpine ridge several times, connecting Triest with Monaco through Bavaria and Liechtenstein.
The following groups of mountains are passed through: Julische Alps - Karawanken - Karnische Alps - Dolomites - Zillertal Alps - Tux Alps - Karwendel - Wetterstein - Lechtal Alps - Allgäu - Rätikon - Silvretta - Rhätische Alps (Graubünden/Ortler) - Lepontische Alps (Lombardei/Tessin) - Walliser Alps - Berner Alps - Chablais - Mont-Blanc - Grajische Alps (Aostatal/Vanoise) - Dauphiné - Cottische Alps (Queyras/Monviso) - Seealps - Lower Piemont - Ligurische Alps.
