Nice trip to a small mountain lake - ideal for the whole family!
The hike leads to the beautiful lake of light, which lies below the Trunajoch in the middle of the Obernberger mountain mowers. The gentle surroundings around the lake invite you to play and splash around. You can also watch fish and dragonflies at the Lichtsee. Cows can also be found on the alpine pastures. The path leads through varied terrain - first through the forest, over meadows and finally over beautiful mountain mowers. The ascent is easy and moderately steep, there are no difficulties along the way. Suitable for children from 8 years.
ROUTE DESCRIPTION
The tour starts at the end of Obernberg, at the parking lot Waldesruh. On the right side of the valley a road leads us first past the forest farm to the next fork in the road. From there you follow the forest path no. 99 to the Kastnerbergalmhütte. Above the hut, following the forest path, you branch off to hiking trail no. 99 in the direction of Lichtsee. Over open terrain and meadows, the trail continues uphill to Lichtsee, which lies in a gentle hollow. From Lichtsee you can admire the Obernberger Tribulaun with the Black Wall to the west and to the east you have a beautiful view of the Olperer and the Tuxer Alps.
Tip: The Rötenspitze (2,481m) is only about 300 metres above the Lichtsee and can be reached via trail no. 94 to the Trunajoch and then no. 41 to the summit.
Descent as well as ascent or variant via trail nr. 125, which leads quite steeply downhill into the valley to Almi's mountain hotel.
TIP FROM THE AUTHOR
On hot summer days, the lake of light is a welcome opportunity to cool down.
