One hut is cozier than the next and there are wonderful nature experiences in between. Among other things, the trail leads through the "Gartl", a hidden gem with a picturesque mountain lake at Leibnitztörl.
Stage 3 leads to the "Gartl" and on to the Debantgrat, which is called that but is actually a summit (3,055 m) and therefore the third three-thousand-metre peak in the collection. The eponymous neighboring mountain Hochschober also presents itself in the best light. Then along the Gartlsee lake via the Leibnitztörl to the stage finish. With almost six kilometers of mountain trail in your legs, you can look forward to arriving at the stately Hochschoberhütte and enjoying some tasty treats.
From the Lienzer Hütte, follow the Franz Keil Trail to the so-called Gartl. From there, you have the option of tackling the Debantgrat (3,058 m), a mountain right next to the eponymous mountain in the Schober group. From the Debantgrad, the trail leads past the Gartlsee lake via the Gartltörl to the Hochschoberhütte, the final stop on stage 3. Overnight accommodation: Hochschoberhütte.
