Description
The Harschbichlbahn cable car takes you up to Harschbichl at 1,604 metres, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Kaisergebirge, Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge mountains. You can also enjoy a fantastic view of the summit of the Kitzbüheler Horn from the sun terrace of the Harschbichlalm.
For your short circular tour around the Harschbichl, follow the forest road downhill. Where a path branches off to the via ferrata and Horn summit trail, turn left towards Angerer Alm. On the right, the view opens up to the Jägersteig on the eastern flank of the Kitzbüheler Horn. Keep left again at the next crossroads and hike through a short stretch of forest. At the end of the forest, a narrow hiking trail leads uphill to the Harschbichlbahn mountain station. On your way, you can let your gaze wander over the Oberndorf valley floor, the hilly Bichlach, the grassy mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps and the Wilder Kaiser in the ‘cloud cinema’.
Tip: After crossing the forest, hike about half a kilometre down to the Stanglalm, where you will find
a traditional Alpine inn serving homemade and regional specialities.
