Surefooted hiking boots or mountain shoes, a breathable outdoor pants, a rain jacket, as well as a backpack with provisions, drinks, and a first-aid kit are always part of the standard gear. Sunglasses, sunscreen, headwear such as a bandana or hiking hat are also highly recommended, along with a warm second jacket, trekking poles, and gloves if needed. The choice of clothing should always be adapted to the current weather conditions.

Description

Die 4. Etappe führt uns vom hinteren Horchlachtal vorbei an der Zwieselbacher Sennhütte durch eine der schönsten und größten Almen des Ötztals, durch das langgezogene aber recht flache Zwieselbachtal. Dem Wasser folgend beginnt dann im hinteren Zwieselbachtal der Anstieg zum Zwieselbachjoch. Hier auf 2.868m angekommen ist der höchste Punkt erreicht, mit Blick auf Strahlkogel, Breiter Grieskogel und auf die Hinteren Ötztaler 3.000er Giganten.

Abstieg durch das „Winnebach Kar“, dem Wasser folgend zum Winnebach See. Direkt an diesem liegt das Ziel dieser Etappe: Die Winnebach See Hütte auf 2.362m.
