Mountain hikes Erlanger Hütte - Umhausen-Niederthai

Umhausen / Ötztaler Alpen
Difficulty ratings: difficult
Route length: 10.5 km
Duration: 5:30 h

This magnificent mountain panorama will leave you open-mouthed with amazement. That's good! The landlord of the Erlanger Hütte is a brilliant chef with many years of experience in top gastronomy!

Tour character

A distant destination with great appeal: the Erlanger Hütte sits enthroned on a panoramic rocky plateau below the Wildgrat ridge on the romantic Wettersee lake. The approach from Ötztal, Pitztal or Oberinntal requires surefootedness and takes between 4.5 and 6 hours, but the mountain hike can be shortened by taking an alpine cab. The final highlight of the tour: an invigorating meal prepared by a top chef!

Description

From the parking lot near Fundusbrücke - Neudorf (alternatively parking lot Mure center), it goes leisurely over the wide forest road to the Fundustal (left) and Leierstal (right) crossroads. You continue to the right and reach the front Leierstalalm (not managed) after about 2.5 hours on foot. From there, it continues about 700 m along the track before you turn left onto the hiking trail. This now leads over somewhat steeper terrain uphill; at the top, you are rewarded with a wonderful view. The Wettersee, just behind the hut, is very worth seeing.
