At 2,000 meters high above Sölden, alpine cows get the finest grasses and alpine visitors the most delicious delicacies. Extra enjoyment bonus on the Gampe Thaya sun terrace: the beautiful view!
It takes hikers around two hours to walk from Sölden to Gampe Thaya, or around thirty minutes via the high trail or the Hochsölderstraße. Almost too little to fully enjoy the anticipation of a first-class, authentic hut stop: the Prantl family knows how to delight their guests with products from their own farm, including dishes from Ötztal's alpine cattle, a delicacy snack or an excellent cheese fondue (to be ordered in advance).
This hike starts from Sölden past the church towards the hamlet of Plödern. You continue uphill on the partly dense forest path, which requires a good level of fitness.
When you arrive at the Hochsölder Straße, you continue on the field path over alpine meadows to the Gampe Alm.
Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is the train station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or our local taxi companies through the valley to your desired destination.
