Description

This picturesque circular hike in Reith im Alpbachtal is barrier-free and thus accessible to all hiking enthusiasts. The route includes five interesting stations, each located at selected rest benches. At each of these stations, there are self-sufficient pillars that generate electricity through turning to play an audio file. These audio files tell fascinating stories and reports about the history and special features of the region.

Stations of the hike:

  • Reither Lake
  • Herbal Garden
  • Viewing platform "Leaf Platform"
  • Hub Chapel
  • Brandach

The entire route is stroller-friendly and specifically barrier-free accessible for people with limited mobility. All stations are designed to offer an experience to every visitor, regardless of their physical abilities. This inclusion allows everyone to discover and enjoy the interesting backgrounds and stories of Reith im Alpbachtal.

Note for wheelchair users:

The path is barrier-free throughout, but due to the inclines towards Hub Chapel and Brandach, it is recommended only with motor support (Swiss Trac)! The lower three stations Herbal Garden, Leaf Platform, and Reither Lake are located on the barrier-free Hildegard von Bingen hiking trail and are also very manageable without motor support with hardly any elevation meters.

Note for visually impaired persons:

The descriptions at the pillars are also provided in Braille.

Refreshment options:

At the end of the hike, there are opportunities to refresh yourself in the village center of Reith im Alpbachtal, where you can enjoy regional specialties.

This circular hike is ideal for a relaxing and informative day in nature, where you can experience the beauty and history of the region in an inclusive and accessible way.
