Motorcycle tour Großglockner
You can approach Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner (3,798 m), from Osttirol as well as from Carinthia or Salzburg. We start clockwise in the direction of the Felbertauern Road and drive onto the Kalser Glockner Road at Huben. At the Lucknerhaus, there is a fantastic view of Austria's highest peak. A little later, the road swings on towards Mittersill, which is approached via the motorbike-friendly curves of the Felbertauern Road. Soon afterwards, in Bruck, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road starts, which now presents masterpieces of Alpine road construction over 48 kilometres. The detours to the Edelweißspitze and Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe are definitely recommended - magnificent views and many other bikers make the stop worthwhile. From the Hochtor, the Queen of Alpine Roads reaches the province of Carinthia. Shortly before Lienz, coming over the Iselsberg, you enter Osttirol again and an eventful tour comes to an end.
