You start in the village center of Alpbach, walk left past the church to the Böglerhof Hotel and then turn immediately left. Now a beautiful path leads, partly over meadows, upwards to the Hausberg farms.
At the chapel, turn left onto trail No. A6 and hike towards Bischoferalm. When you reach the alpine pasture area, follow the signposting "Hauseralm/Holzalm". Two switchbacks further on, you reach the new "Almausschank Bischofer Käsalm". After a rest, continue the hike to Bischofer Joch.
From the Joch, follow the signposting "Holzalm" and hike gently uphill along a forest road to the mountain inn Holzalm.
