Description

This stage is quite a challenge: one of the longest stages with an ascent of almost 1,300 m awaits you. But it is worth it: both the long climb to the 2,029 m high Schöntaljoch at the beginning as a variant of the old mule track over the Stangenjoch and the subsequent high-altitude hike between Rettenstein and Wildkogel are worth every effort. A wonderful view of the glaciated 3,000-metre peaks of the Venedigergruppe included.
