Description

The hike with its almost 1,000 m elevation gain is not a big challenge but still worthwhile. The Torkopf is a little insider tip and all hikers looking for a lonely summit in the idyllic mountain landscape of Inneralpbach will get their money's worth here.

The route starts at the barrier in the Luegergraben. Directly at the Hochberg parking lot, the path first leads through the forest and then through the wide alpine pasture area along a forest road to the first destination, the Faulbaumgartenalm. The first 400 m elevation gain are achieved and those who want to take it easy can already stop here for the first time. It continues past the unmanaged Filzalm to the Steinbergalm. From the starting point, this is a total of 600 m elevation gain and about 2.5 hours walking time.

Dairy farmer Hannes Klingler from Steinbergalm is known for his excellent homemade cheese and gray cheese. Cows, young cattle, calves and pigs are cared for by the dairy farmer on the alpine pasture and form the basis for the excellent dairy products. A tasting is therefore a must, whether before or after conquering the summit is up to everyone.

From Steinbergalm it goes up the last 400 m elevation gain to the evergreen Torkopf. From the alpine pasture first right following the path and then the markings over the saddle to the summit of the Torkopf. Arrived in paradise, you can really enjoy the break at the lonely summit.

The highlights of the tour:

  • extensive and not overcrowded alpine pasture area
  • from the summit you can no longer see the houses of the valley villages, only the idyllic mountain landscape of Inneralpbach
  • beautiful small mountain lake, the Gruberlacke
  • two places to stop
