The charming village of Uderns lies near the start of the Zillertal Valley, where the valley floor is wide and the sun shines long into the evening. It offers many outdoor activities such as swimming, skiing and golf.
Uderns is home to 1,700 inhabitants and lies close to the Zillertalstraße road and the Zillertalbahn railway, both of which run the length of the valley. The Zillertalbahn sometimes still operates steam engines. Uderns is popular with holidaymakers who enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking. An 18-hole golf course spread over 65 hectares of land was recently built near the village and features covered tees and a golf school. During the summer months there is an outdoor adventure pool in nearby Fügen as well as a swimming pool in the small village of Stumm and a natural swimming lake in Schlitters. Further highlights are the adventure park in Kaltenbach with a high rope obstacle course and a via ferrata fixed-rope climbing route. There is also plenty to see and do in Uderns in winter. A regular ski bus takes guests to the ski resorts of Hochfügen-Hochzillertal or Spieljoch, which is particularly popular with families thanks to its gentle pistes.
