Towered by the rugged and lofty peaks of Kalkkögel, the Schlickeralm Trail Run is now in its 34th year and offers three different routes, a relay event and a Kids’ Run.
The popular Schlickeralm Trail Run takes avid runners across one of the country’s most scenic and challenging courses. Starting in Telfes in Stubai Valley, the course winds up through forest and verdant meadows and on to the 2,136-meter summit of Kreuzjoch Peak and finish. The 11.5K course provides plenty of challenges and scenery, including uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from Schlick 2000. In addition to the long run, which includes a nasty vertical gain of 1,157 meters, there are two more routes available: A short run (7.2K, 749 meters of elevation gain) and the Telfer Meadows Run (8K, meters of elevation gain), suitable for recreational runners of all abilities. The latter is offered as a relay event as well. Moreover, a 300-meter Kids’ Run and a 1.2K Charity Run take place in the village center.
