Towered by the rugged and lofty peaks of Kalkkögel, the Schlickeralm Trail Run is now renamed into the Kalkkögel Trail and offers two different routes, a charity event and a Kids’ Run.
The new-named Kalkkögel Trail Run takes avid runners across one of the country’s most scenic and challenging courses. Starting in Telfes in Stubai Valley, the K42 Marathon Course winds up through forest and verdant meadows and on to the 2,136-meter summit of Kreuzjoch Peak, continues to the top of Schlicker Schartl (elev. 2,450m) and past Sennjoch Hut, Starkenburger Hut and Pfarrachalm Alpine Pasture Hut. The 42K course provides plenty of challenges and scenery, including uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from Schlick 2000. In addition to the long run, which includes a nasty vertical gain of 2,686 meters, there are two more routes available: A shorter 16 K run with 940 meters of elevation gain and the 1.2K Charity Run in Telfes. Moreover, a 300M and a 1.2K Sumsi Kids’ Run take place in the village center.
