Appropriate equipment such as breathable suitable outdoor clothes for the weather, ankle-high walking boots, wind-, rain- & sun protection, hat, possibly gloves, is for all hikes and tours necessary. Please bring a first-aid box, a mobile phone, a walking map and if there is not hut on the way a snack and enough to drink.From the car park Sennhof in Niederthai you walk the always slightly increasing forest path along the Horlachbach into the Horlachtal. After about an hour you reach the Larstigalm and walk comfortably past it. The path leads up a little steeper and then flat and so you get to the lower Klein Horlachalm. The last piece to the nearby Groß Horlachalm (not managed) is a bit steeper, but you will be rewarded with a beautiful view towards Niederthai. From the starting point in Niederthai there are as an alternatively offer the two mountain trails Grastal and Bergmahderweg. Even with the mountain bike the hut is very easy to reach.
Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is the train station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or our local taxi companies through the valley to your desired destination.
