Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, wind, rain and sun protection, hat, possibly gloves, is required for all hikes and routes. From the Sennhof car park in Niederthai, you hike along the gently ascending forest road next to the Horlachbach into the Horlach valley. After about one hour, you reach the Larstigalm and stroll comfortably past it. The path briefly ascends more steeply once and then continues flat until you reach the lower-lying Klein Horlachalm. The last section ascends again a little steeper to the Groß Horlachalm (not operated). Once at the top, you are rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view towards Niederthai. For the return journey, the same route is suggested or alternatively the two high paths Grastal and Bergmahderweg (not suitable for strollers). The easy hiking route is also very suitable for families and with strollers/buggies. The Groß Horlachalm can also be easily reached by mountain bike.
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is the ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can travel comfortably and quickly by public transport or local taxi companies through the entire valley to your desired destination!
