Do places still exist where people rarely set foot? Around the Vernagthütte you have a good chance of finding such places. It is the ideal base for high alpine tours through the vast glacier world of the Ötztal Alps.
Beautiful tour via the Rofenhöfe farms at the head of the valley to the Vernagthütte.
Vent – double chairlift Wildspitze (10 min. drive), further from the mountain station to the Breslauer Hütte (1 ½ hour) or to the Wilden Mann (2 ½ hours) and then to the Breslauer Hütte (1 ½ hour). From the Breslauer Hütte to the Vernagthütte (2 ½ hours).
Enjoy a both comfortable and relaxing train ride to the train station in Ötztal Bahnhof. You get off the train in ÖTZTAL Bahnhof where you change to a public bus or local taxi. The current bus schedule can be found at: http://fahrplan.vvt.at
The following parking options are available in the mountaineering village Vent
- In summertime in front of the village (parking machine, only coins or EC card) and at the chairlift (at the ticket office of the mountain railways)
- In wintertime only at the chairlift
