The last stages of the final Route 6 are on the program. Today we are on our way to one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol: the Wettersee. Its crystal-clear water against a spectacular mountain backdrop is deeply impressive. The Erlanger Hütte, our stage destination, is just a few minutes' walk away - wonderful.
Difficult stage on black mountain paths. Sure-footedness and high alpine experience are required. There are two rocky ledges to overcome with the help of ropes. You have to cross scree fields and steep climbs. A very good level of fitness is required.
Suitable for sure-footed, confident on steep terrain, and alpine-experienced mountaineers; very good physical condition, alpine experience and mountaineering equipment (see under equipment), sometimes alpine safety gear, good weather conditions recommended. Please pay attention to the current weather report.
Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing is required for all hikes and routes. Carrying a first aid kit, a mobile phone, and possibly a hiking map, as well as sufficient provisions for hikes without dining options, is necessary.
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is the ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can travel conveniently and quickly using public transport or local taxi companies throughout the valley to your desired destination.
