PLEASE NOTE: Due to forestry work, the path from the Lehn district to Stabele Alm is closed. Alternatively, you can reach Stabele Alm via the forest road. LÄNGENFELD/LEHN -> Stabelealm -> Innerbergalm -> WÖCKELWARTE
Suitable for those free of vertigo, sure-footed, and alpine-experienced mountaineers; very good physical condition, alpine experience, and mountain equipment (see under Equipment), sometimes alpine safety gear, good weather conditions recommended. Please observe the current weather report.
Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing is required for all hikes and routes. Carrying a first aid kit, a mobile phone and possibly a hiking map, as well as sufficient provisions on hikes without the option to stop for food, is necessary.
The hike begins in the district of Lehn, where the access to the Lehner Klettersteig is also located amidst larch forest. The well-passable path leads into the forest and shortens the forest road ascending in switchbacks. About halfway the trail crosses the Lehnbach stream. As soon as you leave the forest and wide meadows open up, Stabelealm comes into view. Our destination is now about 45 minutes away. On the way you also pass the Innerbergalm. Stopping at one of the huts is definitely worthwhile. Both offer excellent homemade cuisine. Refreshed, you reach the Hauerkamm, where a small hexagonal wooden hut, the Wöckelwarte, is located at the peak. From there you can let your view wander over Längenfeld.
Travel comfortably and safely by train. The final stop or exit point is ÖTZTAL station. You can then travel comfortably and quickly through the entire valley with public transportation or local taxi companies to your desired destination.
