Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, wind, rain, and sun protection, a hat, and possibly gloves are required for all hikes and routes. Carrying a first aid kit, a mobile phone, and possibly a hiking map, as well as sufficient provisions for hikes without dining options, is necessary.

Description

From Obergurgl head south to the last houses in the village. From there follow the wide path towards Zirben Alm. Then continue in the direction of Zirbenwald to a ledge (way cross and bench) opposite the Nasenwand. Here turn right down to the Gurgler Ache, follow the narrow path to the 30 m long bridge. Ascend over mountain meadows to the Beilsteinweg which continues to the Beilstein or back to Obergurgl.

  • Arrival by public transport

    Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop and exit point is ÖTZTAL station. From there, you can conveniently and quickly continue through the entire valley to your desired destination using public transport or local taxi companies!   • Parking

    The following parking options are available in Gurgl: 

    • Park garage village center Obergurgl (turn right before the church), paid | € 2.00 per hour
    • Park garage village entrance – valley station Festkoglbahn, paid | € 6.00 per day
    • Parking lot at Hochgurglbahn valley station, free – no overnight parking
    • Parking lot Top Mountain Crosspoint, free
    • Parking lot Hochgurgl, free (very small parking lot)
