Motorcycle tour Lienzer Dolomiten und Kreuzeckgruppe
This time, the Pustertaler Höhenstraße is the opening highlight, which is ridden from east to west on this loop and also offers inspiring views and vistas. Shortly afterwards, the indicator is set in the direction of the Lesach Valley. Several serpentines take the ride upwards in a demanding manner. At the apex of the Kartitscher Sattel, 1,525 m are reached. The listed village of Obertilliach follows and shortly afterwards the border to Carinthia is crossed. The pilgrimage site of Maria Luggau opens the ride through the Lesach Valley. The unspoilt valley is one of the most scenic in the Eastern Alps.
We leave the B111 at Hermagor and drive through the Gitschtal and over the Kreuzbergsattel to the Weißensee, the highest bathing lake in Europe. Here we recommend a break in the centre of Techendorf, which is reached by crossing a bridge. Down to Greifenburg, another attractive serpentine stretch awaits. The Drau Valley and the Möll Valley, with a view of the Kreuzeck Group, lead the way back to Osttirol.
