To simply put it, having a dog has changed my life. Dogs have the added benefit of needing to be walked and played with. This means that my furry companion encourages me to exercise more, which boosts my mood and energy levels. Getting up in the morning is more fun, as my ‘alarm clock’ greets me with a tail wag and looking at him makes me feel good, loved and adorable (without makeup and with rings under my eyes he makes me feel that I am the best person in the whole, entire world!). And I feel safer as my dog is an effective home security system. Barking behind the door he will deter burglars.
Bring Fido – Without the Hassle
Luis, my Maltipoo hybrid dog belongs with me and I go anywhere where he is welcome. Not surprisingly, a vacation just wouldn’t be the same without my dog. Thus, as a new dog owner, I asked myself where can I take my four-legged family member in Tirol without too much of a hassle? I have checked pet-friendly accommodations throughout the country and here are some tips to show you Tirol can be a great little getaway for your dog as well.
Being Pet-Friendly
Of course, being „pet-friendly“ means more than a dog food bowl delivered to my room. To me, pet-friendly accommodations don’t just tolerate dogs, they welcome pets with open arms and embrace them with first-class services. When it comes to pet-friendly lodging, two things matter most: I want to bring my dog to the restaurant for dinner (he makes a good guest lying beneath the table) and I want to keep him next to me outside at the pool/lake area. I don’t want to leave my dog alone in the room.

Tirol is becoming more and more more pet-friendly, to the point where you can feel comfortable finding not only pet-friendly hotels and other lodging for your dog, but also a wide array of pet-friendly services and venues.

It is really mean. The sun is shining, the days are growing longer and the open-air season has begun. Spring has sprung, but not everyone feels energetic. Observing the total renewal of nature after a long and cold winter is unbelievably beautiful, but it can make you behave like a sleepy fly—and not after a night out drinking. Somehow, you feel sleepier than during wintertime and that terrible feeling of fatigue and weakness coming between you and the world can feel uncomfortable, frustrating, and debilitating.
Wood is such a versatile material and available in such abundance in places like Tirol that it is sometimes hard to fathom why not all building are made from it. After all, it is renewable, carbon-friendly and 100% sustainable. Wooden houses and buildings are naturally warm and often have a wonderful aroma, especially if they are made of pine. And, last but certainly not least, wood is so adaptable that many architects choose it for their most ambitious projects. Here are five of the coolest wooden buildings in Tirol.
Sure, skiing is a big part of winter here in Tirol. But I also like to try other winter activities away from the pistes with my kids. Here are a few ideas on what to see and do on holiday beyond the ski slopes.
Tirol’s lakes are, of course, a great place to splash and swim in summer – but they are also well worth a visit in winter. Many freeze over all winter and can be used for ice skating, winter walking or even a bit of cross-country skiing. Don’t forget to take a woolly hat and a pair of warm gloves as well as warm walking boots and clothing for a fun and enjoyable experience on the ice.
No traffic jams, no stress, no black ice – just lean back and enjoy the scenery; then go directly from the train station to the ski slope. Travelling by train is the best and easiest way to reach many Tirolean tourism destinations. Today we would like to show you five ski resorts you can easily reach by train.
