Description

From Obergurgl on the hiking path via the Pirchhütter Bratbrücke and over the Lobbach, continue at the junction on path 39. The trail winds up the steep slope until you reach the Sonnbergalm. After the junction to Nedersee, you pass the beautifully situated Soomsee. From the small lake northwest into the high valley leading to Gurgler Schartl (2932 m). The ascent over the lake plateau to Gurgler Schartl is somewhat strenuous, but the summit ascent over the Stockferner is rewarded with a magnificent view that extends from Ortler far into the south.
