Description

A NATURAL JEWEL IN THE MIDST OF THE DANCE OF THE ELEMENTSFeel the primal force with every step you take into the beautiful and varied nature. Whether with full energy at Stuibenfall, with eagle eyes at the birds of prey park, following Ötzi's tracks in the Ötzi Open-Air Park, or relaxing deeply at the bathing lake – in the primal force Umhausen, everyone finds their experience.

The following kilometers promise a wonderful mixture of river, forest, and meadow hiking. Through green forests, you quietly approach an incomparable natural jewel, the Piburger See. The lake is a popular excursion destination for young and old in summer. Around the lake, there is a well-developed hiking network with views of the sparkling natural lake. On the way, you pass the small hamlet of Piburg, from which the lake takes its name. In Sautens, the stage destination, a centuries-old tradition is preserved: schnapps distilling. In the climatically favored location, among others, apricots thrive. For the Ötztaler Meisterwurz, however, the distillers must go up to about 2,000 m, to then create a high-quality apple brandy with the aromas of the root, like anise, fennel, and citrus.
