Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, wind, rain and sun protection, a hat, possibly gloves, is required for all hikes and routes. Carrying a first aid kit, a mobile phone and possibly a hiking map, as well as sufficient provisions for hikes without dining options, is necessary.
Start at the Köfels parking lot and hike the trail up towards "Köfler Schartle." Upon reaching the top, enjoy a beautiful view of the Fundustal and the Ötztal. Then continue along the Waalweg (Europe’s highest located Waalweg) towards the Frischmann Hut. There you can relax and then hike past the Fundusalm back to the starting point.
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can continue conveniently and quickly with public transportation or local taxi companies through the entire valley to your desired destination.
