LAKE HOPPING ON THE HIGH PLATEAU
A destination away from the 3,000-meter peaks... A high plateau with a magnificent wide view, some high mountain lakes, and a charming alpine pasture promise an eventful hike ending in Zwieselstein.
From Obergurgl, starting at the Pirchhütter Achbrücke, the path leads up to the idyllic lake plateau at about 2,500 m. Upon arrival, one can already see the clear Soomsee, which quietly sparkles in the sun. Surrounded by green grasses and soft alpine meadow ground, the lake invites you to stay a long time.
From Soomsee, you hike further with an incredible mountain panorama at the foot of the 3,000-meter peaks to the next highlight of the stage – the Nedersee, which gives its name to the Nederkogl. The rustic Lenzenalm, which you reach during the descent, invites you for a cozy stop with traditional delicacies and Tyrolean cuisine. The stage destination is the village of Zwieselstein, where the two side valleys Gurglertal and Ventertal merge.
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is the ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can travel comfortably and quickly with public transport or local taxi companies throughout the entire valley to your desired destination!
