Hintere Schwärze (from the Martin-Busch-Hütte)
Wearing hiking equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, wind, rain and sun protection, a hat and possibly gloves is recommended! It is also important to take sufficient food supplies, a first-aid kit, a mobile phone and possibly a hiking map.
From the hut, a short section down the valley to a sturdy bridge over the Niederjochbach to the foot of the Marzell ridge. Crossing the foot of the ridge and later descending to the Marzell glacier. Over the glacier (mostly snow-free in the lower part) up to the icefalls. Now either pass the icefalls on the right and behind them over crevassed terrain to the upper glacier surface or from here over the rocky ridge (sections II), partly very airy, to the summit. Duration: about 5 h Descent over firn and ice ridge westward at about 3,400 m to the left into the glacier basin between Hintere Schwärze and eastern Marzellspitze, crossing and continuing down to the upper glacier surface.
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can conveniently and quickly travel through the entire valley to your desired destination by public transportation or local taxi companies!
